The Process

Identify Need

It all starts with the communities we serve. Our approach involves working directly with community members to identify their needs through multiple methods. We engage with students and staff in the kitchen during meal times, testing recipes and having conversations to uncover the real, unmet needs.

Recipe + Ingredients

Partnering with the Halal School Meals Network guarantees that your school meal program is fully Halal, with guidance from food scientists at the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA). IFANCA holds international accreditation from various countries and regulatory bodies. Not only will Muslim students appreciate your offerings, but vegans, vegetarians, and others with specific dietary preferences can enjoy school lunch with confidence, knowing their meal has been thoroughly reviewed.

Trainings + Education

Our team will visit your kitchen as many times as necessary to train and educate your staff on Halal protocols, provide culturally relevant recipes tailored to your student body, and simplify the process to ensure it’s seamless and foolproof.

Community Outreach

We understand that building trust requires time and dedication. Our team will work closely with your school’s community liaisons, councils, and committees to spread the word about your Halal program. We’ll provide all the marketing materials needed to ensure a successful launch and boost community engagement.

Launch

We will only launch Halal meals once your staff feels fully confident! Before the launch, IFANCA will certify each kitchen to ensure strict adherence to Halal protocols, followed by bi-annual audits for ongoing compliance.

Feedback

Feedback is key to the success of our partnership. We’ve adopted an agile approach, allowing us to make adjustments and improvements in real time based on your input and specific needs.
